One of the greatest life’s pleasures is sleep. While life takes it course, this luxury may be taken away by the different schedules we have as adults and we can no longer stay in our PJs until noon. For some this is no problem at all but for others it is a little bit taxing to have to be up in the morning. If your first look every morning is dreadful, undesirable and not so promising, here are a few ways to make your mornings the best part of your day.
STEP 1: SET INTENTIONS BEFORE BED
Getting out of bed for most people can be grueling. People dread this part of the day because leaving the comfort of the covers, seems more awful than facing a newborn day. Having nothing to look forward to, can break your spirit and make you lose psyche each morning you wake up. One important pointer to being a morning person is to consciously make targets for the next day before you set out for bed. Coming up with a meaningful goal to achieve the next morning, gets you excited to what awaits every dawn. It could be starting a new workout regime, catching up with a friend after work, or having extra time to make a delicious breakfast.
STEP 2: MOVE THE ALARM CLOCK ACROSS THE ROOM
Snoozing my alarm clock was almost second nature for me every morning. However, the more I snoozed the groggier I felt. I felt bad about myself and hated mornings too. Moving my alarm clock was a great idea because it involved movement which triggered my brain to wake up. This helps you get rid of the grogginess and in turn makes you feel good about yourself and puts you in a good mood.
STEP 3: GET SOME EXERCISE
Exercising first thing in the morning is a great wakeup call it helps wake your body and get blood flowing and leaves you energized for the rest of the day. What’s more exercise gives some long-term benefits such as reducing high blood pressure, anxiety and helps you get a good night sleep later in the evening.
STEP 4: DO SOMETHING POSITIVE AND PRODUCTIVE
Waking up in the morning in a good mood can impact your mood for the entire day. For some, doing activities they love or enjoy may be the best kick start to pilot your outlook into a positive and productive morning. It could, be driven by meditating, reading motivational books, listening to inspirational audiobooks or just simply having their morning workout that will leave them smiling all day. Find out what your mood booster is, and try it every morning when you wake up and channel yourself into a good mood all day.
STEP 5: SET A ROUTINE
We are creatures of habit and we can learn any behavior if repeated enough. Keeping up with a routine will program your body to prepare for what is to come and soon your routine will become so natural and effortless. Before long, waking up late will be so foreign to you and the act of waking up early and having extra time will be the reward.
